Indoor, outdoor or in-between, a wide range of activities fills the program of REGARD’s 15th edition which aims at pleasing through its diversity.

Nights are long at the Festival! One of REGARD’s trademarks is the tremendous nocturnal life which supplies plenty of opportunities to stretch the days and fill the evenings in great company.

The Snow screen aims again this year at gathering lovers of the outdoor and screen aficionados. Through the biting cold air, shorts are projected on a large screen and put on quite a show for all cinema fanatics.

The production of the Improvised film is entrusted again to Jean-François Rivard, producer of the very first film of this nature at the Festival. Putting all his daring and cleverness to use, we can be sure that he will master all the constraints imposed during the opening’s cocktail. A shooting and editing sprint which guarantees he’ll get very little sleep!

Éveille ma culture by Ville Saguenay unrolls its red carpet to present the Elders TV in which they developed the content of six TV programs. Then, a special projection of the «making-of» of a short, produced by a team with an age average of 87, will be followed by a discussion that will certainly reveal much about the reality they face.

There are also two exhibitions to add flavour to the Festival: a retrospective of the 15 years of« REGARD sur le court métrage» at the Centre des arts et de la culture and, in collaboration with Séquence, a presentation of the works of Juliette Bineau, a multidisciplinary French artist who walks for the first time on Canadian soil.

The P’tites vues and school projections will conclude this program with the presentation of high quality, daring and hitherto unreleased short films for the whole family.

As a matter of fact, the Caravane du court team will travel all year round through the region’s schools for the greatest pleasure of small and big children. A much appreciated rendezvous for those who love to learn while marvelling!
